Keep it Simple

choice_mainHi Friends,

I feel my spirit is stirred this morning. So many headlines, video’s, tweets and posts. If we are not careful, we get sucked into the whirlwind of confusion. Who to believe.  What to believe. Who and what to trust. Who to follow.

When we feel overwhelmed by this world, and I feel that way almost on a daily basis, I have to remind myself to keep it simple.  Take a step back.  Breathe deep. Surrender to my Lord Jesus and ask Him to sort it out for me. And it really is that simple.

Surrendered-life

Here is a reminder…

1 Corinthians 14:33 King James Version

33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

Read that carefully. “God is NOT the author of confusion, but of PEACE!!!”

He can give you peace when your world is crumbling before your eyes. He can give you peace when your heart is broken.  His word is clear and true. Not confusing or deceiving.

The enemy, that old devil, is the author of confusion and the Father of lies!!!!  Think about that for a moment. He is the FATHER of lies…

John 8:44 King James Version

44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

The enemy is all around us, fighting hard to blind us and lead us astray. And when we are caught up in confusion and feel like we don’t know which way to go, that should be a big indicator that we need to re-evaluate our frame of mind and spirit.

Just stop for a moment. Remember, when you are consumed and weighed down with confusion, that isn’t coming from God.  Ask Him to clear your mind. He will.  armour

John 14:6 [Full Chapter]

Jesus saith unto him, am the waythe truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Jesus is the answer.  Plain and true.  That is the best way I know to keep it simple. Keep your eye on Him and when it drifts, and it will. We are all sinners. We are all carnal by nature, call out to Him. He is waiting on you.

Still Climbing

narrow path to heaven

So, here I am. Still moving forward. Upward. Still climbing that narrow path that will someday lead me home to Heaven.  And home is the perfect word. Sometimes I find myself acting like an impatient child. Pouting and throwing a fit…but, I’m ready to go home…to Heaven.

There are days that feel like they will never end. Days where the climb almost seems too much. Moments that I see the spiritual pain and suffering in those around me and it makes me hurt. Needless worry and stress that zaps the joy from the hearts of those I know and love. If we just lay it all at the feet of Jesus, He will take care of it.

Now, grant it, I’m no Saint. I make lots of mistakes and sometimes I lose sight of my journey. I am only human. But, there are other days when the Holy Spirit is so alive in me that I could run right down the middle of town shouting the good news that Jesus is still in the saving business and He is coming back soon. Very soon.

Are you ready? Do you have yourself in order? Did you know that the Bible says…

But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. Matthew 12:36 KJV

empty-words

Let that sink in…Every Idle Word!!

Do you know how many idle words I say per day?! It’s overwhelming. Let’s challenge ourselves. If you are reading this, let’s go one full day with no idle words. No speaking under our breath. No judgmental comments. No negative feedback.

Can you do it? I’m certainly going to try.

Let us lift each other in prayer. Let us give thanks for all the blessings we have. Let us rejoice in the day that the Lord has given us. God bless all of you.

Brace Yourself!

Have you seen the news? Heard the stories? It’s not just happening in some unknown region of the world. It’s everywhere! The wind, the waves, the wars, the earthquakes, the be-headings. There is so much death and destruction that life feels surreal at times.

It’s as if there is no peaceful place left on the planet. Nowhere to hide. Nowhere to run. Hate everywhere. How can we go on? How do we survive these hard times?  For me, the answer is simple – Jesus.

When the world around me spins out of control, spiraling into chaos. I look inside myself. Not for some philosophical teaching, or self-help talk. Not to still my mind and calm my chakra. I take refuge and find strength in the one who is an ever present help in trouble.  My Jesus.

I surrender everything to Him. When I close my eyes, when I’m working, driving, eating. It doesn’t matter. He is always with me. He is my rock!! All the Sunday school classes and church services, hymns and Bible studies…His word fills my mind, body and soul. And I know without a doubt…There is Power in the Blood! And Victory in Jesus!

I believe we are so close to His return. So close, that even though I keep looking up and watching, I find myself bracing for the call! How fast we will be changed!  How glorious that moment will be when we are called up to the clouds to meet our Jesus in the air.

I’m excited, scared, anxious, fearful…you name it!  But, I’m also certain, at peace, strong, ready, willing and waiting.

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Isaiah 26:3

In a world of turmoil do you have perfect peace? Do you have an unshakable foundation? Who do you serve this day…right this second?

There are only two answers:     Christ -or- Antichrist.

I serve Christ!! And I hope and pray that you do as well. What kind of eternity will you brace yourself for?

New blog!

Good morning friends!

I hope everyone had a restful night! I did not!! I have a terrible sinus infection, ear ache, cough…you name it!! I sure could use some prayers!

I have opened another blog to help with my Christian based etsy store. I would love it if you decided to follow me on it as well. You can find me at

I feel so very blessed in life. However, I can’t wait to see Jesus! This world is not my home. And as the days pass, I long to go home. My heavenly home. Not for the streets of gold or the mansions therein but to be in the presence ok Jesus. Oh, how wonderful that will be.

As the song says….What a glorious day that will be.

Please remember me in prayer. Thank you.

God bless,
Rachel

My Heart is Spoken For…

Covered by your love divine

 Mercy Me

What an unspeakeable joy!!  Today, I know that my heart is spoken for.  I know that when those fiery darts of the enemy come flying toward me I have a heavenly father who simply waves his hand and says “Back off! This one’s mine.”

Do you need a defender?    A father who protects his child from all harm?  A brother who will go the distance and back again?  A shepherd that will protect you from the wolves and scavengers who wish to torment and abuse you?

He is waiting for you to ask him for his help.

Are you in such emotional and mental pain that you can hardly face the day?  Are you ate up with anger and resentment?  He will ease your burdens.  He will soothe your aches.  He will restore you to newness.

You may  not understand what all that means but you don’t have to understand.  You just have to take a leap of faith and know that when you jump…you are jumping right into his open arms!!  You will never regret it.

Promises

I’m sitting in my office which is in the basement of a three story building.  Dreary…some might think.  We actually have windows that are level to the ground.  The leaves outside are crunchy and I hear an early morning fall rain.  I look out the window only to see a giant rainbow, in all it’s splendor, spralled across the sky for everyone to see.

Do you know what that rainbow represents?  A promise!!  Not just any promise!  A promise from God himself.

Genesis 9:13

I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between
me and the earth.

See….God had destroyed the earth with water because man had become so wicked and God was angry.  There was one man who remained faithful and obedient.  Noah.  He heard God’s word and he began to build an Ark even those around him scoffed at him.  Noah continued working.  God spared Noah and his family.  It rained 40 days and 40 nights!!  That is a lot of rain!!!

Afterward, God promised never to destroy the earth with water.  As a sign of that promise he placed a bow in the clouds for every generation to see and be reminded of His promise!!

What a loving Father.  Thank you Jesus for reminding today of just one of God’s promises.  I don’t know every promise.  There are so many.  But I do know, God NEVER breaks His promises!!!  You can count on him!!  He will never let you down.  Never!!  And that is a promise!
