Not Enough Time

I’ve been watching a lot of end time prophecy shows lately. Everyone seems to have their own take on God‘s timeline of events. Some I agree with…others I don’t. Either way, the one thing I think we all can believe in is that Jesus is our savior.

I am not ashamed to say that Jesus is my savior…my messiah…my advocate to our Heavenly Father. I am not afraid to say Jesus is the ONLY way to Heaven! There is no other way!

There is not enough time left to sugarcoat things. There is not enough time left to agree to disagree. Jesus is the only way! If you don’t have Jesus…then all you have are things that will fade away.

This was weighing heavily on me this morning. I pray that if this message touches you that you will get to know Jesus on a personal level. He is all you need. He will teach you right from wrong. Surrender your life to Him and be filled with the Holy Spirit.

Time is passing so quickly! Throw down your idols and false Gods. They will lead you to death. Jesus will lead you to life everlasting.

Search for Him today!

No Fear!!

Today, I will show no fear.

I will not waiver on my choices because deep
down I know right from wrong.  I will not lie “just a little” so that I can make
someone feel good about what they said, what they are wearing or what they did.
I will boldly proclaim the truth because truth is righteous and truth is truth.

What I send forth will not be sent in vain.  It will be planted, it will
be watered, it will be fed and it will grow.  I have no doubt.

My soul will rejoice even in sorrow.  My tears will be caught and my hurt will be
healed.  My hunger will be satisfied and my thirst will be quenched.

My eyes will be open and my heart will be giving.  I will reach out to those who
are in need.  I will feed.  I will clothe and I will give shelter.  I will be a
better person.

I will be an example.  I will be a light…a voice…a vessel.

Today, I will show no fear.

I will shout the good news!  Let my voice fill the air and carry the name of Jesus on it’s wings.  Let it swirl and
blanket those who need to hear His name…know His story and receive His salvation.

I will not be ashamed.  I will not quench that beautiful spirit.  Let me rise up to meet His calling and fulfill my purpose.

I am a warrior.

I am a lamb.

I am a child of the King of Kings.

Today, I will show no fear.

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God:
I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee;
yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Prepare For Battle

Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.  Ephesians 6:11

Are you a soldier for the cross?  Maybe you are in basic training…learning the skills necessary for battle?  A kind of spiritual boot camp so to speak.  If so, you better get ready because you will be deployed and you will see action!

After I was saved by the blood of Jesus I felt like nothing could stop me.  I could have charged Hell with a water pistol and still have come out unscathed.  I had a clear and definite understanding that the battle I was about to face had already been won.  As the song says, the battle is His…the victory is mine.  I just didn’t have a full grasp on what awaited me.

No one told me that I was going to be tempted and tried…at least not to the extent that it happened.  I believe this is an area that, as a Christian, we need to be more open and forthcoming about the war getting ready to explode inside of us.

It is true, the battle is won and the victory is ours.  However, the enemy is smart and cunning and will stop at nothing to win you back.
for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

I guess it stands to reason…He was an Angel to begin with so why wouldn’t he be able to transform?  Scary thought, huh?!

I felt tormented.  After the ‘high’ of being saved and getting baptized there came a moment of spiritual silence.  I liken it to Jesus being tempted in the desert.   We must all face that temptation.  You will have everything you ever desired laid out in front of you.  Prepare yourself.

Have a strong Christian support system.  Someone you can call on when it feels too heavy to bear.  And never, ever forget that Jesus will never put more on us than we can stand.  There will always be a way out.

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

 1 Corinthians 10:13

Thanks Kim for the water pistol comment!  You are awesome!

Socks and Other Luxuries.

He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he giveth of his bread to the poor.  Proverbs 22: 9

As evening stretches out before me, I find myself thinking about the homeless in my community and around the world.  I wonder how many are going to sleep tonight in a car, a tent, under a bridge. I can’t begin to imagine how horrible that must be on a night like this where temperatures will be dipping down into the 30’s (maybe colder with the wind chill.)  I pray for them.

As for me, I have an evening of fun, food and friends waiting on me. Oh how I take life for granted and all the things I have. Socks! I mean, who really thinks about their socks? I don’t unless my feet get cold. What a luxury…and gloves?! Do you own a pair of gloves? A scarf? Close your eyes for a second and think about what it would be like sleeping on the cold sidewalk with no socks, maybe blisters on your feet, no gloves, and no coat! My goodness…what are we gonna do??

Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.

1 Corinthians 12:27

We are the body of Christ.  We need to reach out to those less fortunate…to those hurting and hungry.  The spiritually wounded who are desperate for something that they do not know how to ask for.  We, as Christians know what the answer is!  It is so simple.  Jesus!

Have we grown so slack in our servitude that we can’t even stretch forth our hand to those who are lost?  I pray not.

But if we are the body…Why aren’t His arms reaching?

Why aren’t His hands healing?

Why aren’t His words teaching?

And if we are the body…Why aren’t His feet going?

Why is His love not showing them there is a way?

There is a way

 (Casting Crowns)

Before I head out tonight I want to challenge you!  What are you doing this Christmas Season to share the love of Jesus?

Please, call your local homeless shelter and see if there is a family you can adopt for Christmas.  Clean out your cupboards and take your offering to your community food bank.  Do you have a neighbor who has lost a job?  Wrap some gifts and leave them on the porch or slip an envelope of cash in their mailbox.  It only takes a simple act of kindness to change a person’s entire outlook!

One person can make a difference.  Will you be the “one” this year?

For God loveth a cheerful giver.
